Needle epilation is an excellent method for removing single bothersome hairs on the face, no matter whether they are dark or light, thick or thin. Needle epilation has been around for over 130 years and is currently the only hair removal method that can be truly described as permanent. An ultra-fine needle is guided along the hair and into the hair follicle where electrical impulses are then applied to disrupt the hair-forming cells. Our hairs are always in one of three phases of their life cycle: the growth phase (anagen), the transitional phase (catagen) and the resting phase (telogen). Only hairs that are in the so-called growth phase can be permanently removed, which is why, depending on the initial situation, it can take multiple sessions over the course of about a year. How many and which hairs are currently in the growth phase and the duration of each depends on a range of different factors, age, predisposition and location on the body.
The interval between treatments is selected depending on the individual person.
